This hotel is on the southern shore of the Snaefellsnes peninsula, close to the water. The modern room (comfort twin with glacier view) was spacious with two chairs, a desk and small table, comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with good shower. There are electrical outlets galore in this room. The weather didn't allow for a view but we would have seen the glacier out of our spacious window if the peak hadn't been covered with clouds. The dining room has a very good dinner buffet and excellent breakfast with many hot and cold items. Location is convenient for visiting the Snaefellsjokull National Park (be sure to go to the excellent visitor center at Malarrif) Budir, Hellnar, Arnarstapi, the black pebble beach, and other amazing wonders of the area. Highly recommended.

Located in the country side, Hotel Stundarfridur offers accommodation 12 km from Stykkishólmur. This property provides guests with a terrace. There is also a restaurant and a shared lounge. We liked everything during our stay! The guesthouse is located in a very beautiful place, and we could observe it while eating breakfast in a spacious hall with big windows :) Everything was super clean, the interiors are very cosy and designed thoughtfully. The hostess that greeted us was really kind and nice :) Worth to mention that it is one of few places that accepts travellers with pets, while the price is still affordable. Thank you for everything, it was a super cosy place where we would gladly stay again!

Found 23 km east of Snæfellsnes National Park, this hotel offers bright, modern rooms with private bathrooms. WiFi and parking are free. Snæfellsjökull Volcano is within 20 minutes’ drive. The food was unbelievably good! My husband is a foodie and he said his hamburger was the best he has ever tasted! The hotel is beautifully renovated. The staff were friendly and very professional. We will definitely be back!
