FAQs about hotels in Salou
On average, 3-star hotels in Salou cost 2,366 Kč per night, and 4-star hotels in Salou are 3,185 Kč per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Salou can on average be found for 10,650 Kč per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun watersports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.
Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, whilst inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and rollercoasters in themed zones, and a waterpark with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club boasting 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.
Next door is Port Halley shopping centre which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.
Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great waterpark for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.
Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around 20 minutes’ drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.

Salou is a lovely place, lots to do but like most tourist places the shops sell pretty much the same thing , it's a good idea to check them all out though as they all offer different prices for similar items.
We found that at night time there was lots of groups of young people around which for two women it was a little off putting, That's just our personal opinion.

Quiet area good for eating and relaxing.
Quiet area good for eating and relaxing. Panders to tourists a bit, so try to eat in more local restaurants if you want better value and tastier food. I would try to avoid eating anywhere along the beach as a lot of them are within the same chain/group which serve a practically identical menu (restaurants like bamboo, boca boca, etc) and their prices are quite expensive for what you get (food is average and drinks watered down). A few days here is plenty to relax, but any more might leave you bored. There were plenty of little supermarkets for essentials, and I would recommend grabbing a light breakfast at any of the michaelangelo locations! It's super cheap and yummy.
The best place we ate for dinner was hands down restaurant tahiti so definitely check that out for great paella.
Beware that there is a monopoly situation on taxis (uber is banned) so taxis are quite pricey (€32 for 15/20 minute ride)

The apartment is well situated in a great little beach town of Salou. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, it offered all the amenities of home. Even a washing machine.
Unfortunately the train service in Salou has been suspended since we last visited but they offer many options of bus service to get to neighbouring Reus or Tarragona and even offer direct bus rides to Barcelona's airport.

Everything about Salou is great.
Everything about Salou is great. Over the last 25 years been 7 ot 8 times. I can't fault anything about it. Good beaches, great hotels and very family orientated. It's such a pleasant place. The airport is close and then there is Port Aventura world which is without doubt the best theme park in Europe. Then there is lovely places adjacent to it in Cambrills, Taragona and La Pineda.
The night life is also very good. No I can't fault this place and hope to return soon..
We arrived on a Sunday which makes finding a parking space near hotel harder. Even the hotel provided spaces (euro 10 per day) were booked up. (There is a communal parking area 200m from hotel at euro 4 per day which was fine and looked safe enough). We had a room on first floor with balcony overlooking the pool. The rooms are generous size which allows for 4 to sleep. The bathroom was recently refurbed. Good location to get around Salou. Take the tourist train to get an overview and then walk every where. We didn't use the car for 5 days.
The hotel was beautiful, it had everything you needed; a gorgeous big pool, lots of sun loungers, a restaurant, inside bar with entertainment, pool bar, a spa, the list goes on and on. The rooms are super clean and a great size bedroom area and bathroom, we had a sea view so our balcony had the most beautiful view of the pool and the ocean and you could see the sunset every night. They also have bikes to hire for €12 per day and it was about a 10-15 min cycle to salou beach and the main strip, this was our favourite thing we done.
Reception staff friendly and helpful and spoke fluent English.
Room clean and comfortable with a good shower.
Whilst restaurant area was extremely busy it was well organized and staff were once again friendly and helpful.
Best underground garage I have ever encountered. Parking bays spacious and easily accommodate large modern cars without risking damage from other vehicles. At €12 per day, whilst parking was not cheap neither was it the most expensive I have found. There was free street parking in the area around the hotel.
Myself and my family stayed for 4 nights early October. It was my first time staying in the Blaumar Hotel despite being in Salou several times. It was a great location, 2-3 mins walk from main shopping/Bar/restaurant area and was directly across the road from the beach. The hotel itself was newly renovated and was excellent quality. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We chose bed and breakfast and the choice for breakfast was fantastic. I’d highly recommend a stay in the Blaumar Hotel. We’ll definitely be back.
Not much to be honest. How this hotel has a four star rating I don’t know. Never had threadbare, hokey towels in a 4 star hotel ever. Room was pretty much okay, but needed some TLC. The staff apart from one weren’t helpful at all, and the daily room clean was featherlight, almost non-existent. In comparison: we arrived in a four star hotel in Valencia today. Incredibly helpful staff, room is spotless and after just a few hours we’re extending our stay. Standards need to be maintained, not rested upon.
The hotel is old, dirty, broken and moldy everywhere.Air conditioning in the restaurant and hotel did not work almost all the time. The food was the same every day, terrible food. What we see in the pictures in Booking has nothing to do with reality. We wanted to leave immediately, but we couldn't find rooms in other hotels. This Hotel has 3 stars and Best Cap de Salou has 4! The hotels have no basis for comparison. The second one is light years ahead. This hotel may have one star or be called a hostel
Host will meet you at the property to hand over the keys. All supplies in the apartment. Full kitchen/washing machine. view of the sea from the balcony. Beginning of June must still be off time because not crowded at all. Apartment is located about a mile from downtown Salou. A car makes this location ideal. Pool downstairs and a short 5 minute walk to secluded sandy beach. About 15 minute walk to large sandy beach area. Beds and pull out bed very comfy.
This is a beautiful hotel, in the center and close to the beach with a very nice pool; friendly reception, very nice room, and rich breakfast buffer; Salads missing! The hotel is in the very beautiful beach area, unfortunately the sea was dirty, maybe after heavy rainstorms, it is right in the restaurant and pubs area and 2 minutes from Salou bus station
Totally enjoyed our stay here. We moved from another hotel as our flight was cancelled and had another 4 days in Salou. We were in apartment 1 top floor. Great panaromic views from the extensive balcony. kitchen facilities with cooker, kettle, microwave if needed.
Very nice hotel in the centrum od the city. Nice & polite staff. Amazing buffet breakfast & dinner. Has an own parking ( for extra charges). Beautiful 2 pools, roof terrace with bar & pool is wonderful touch. Very good price ( we been there after the season ).
The room vas very comfortable and very clean. Also, the breakfast was very good.
We had drinks in the bar in the evening and were delicious. The staff were all very nice. I definitely recommend staying in this hotel when visiting Salou or Port Aventura.
The beach was really nice, and very friendly for children. We did some snorkeling, and saw a lot of fish. The breakfast was good, and well organized in spite of the huge amount of guests this hotel accomodates.
The hotel location is good, near the seaside and bus station to other cities. The room is big and has all facilities needed. The rooftop heated swimming pool is great for a morning or afternoon dip.
The hotel had amazing facilities, amazing location , rooms were cleaned to perfection and staff were so friendly honestly wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we return to salou
