Couldn’t have asked for anything more! Facilities were outstanding and the service from the team was warm and welcoming. The value of the breakfast, welcome drink and the room itself were absolutely worth the money, we’d love to stay again!

Lovely place to stay for the weekend, bit of a treat for my fellas birthday. Staff were really nice making sure everything was OK for us, food was lovely all homemade and the breakfast was great in fact we were still a bit full by the time tea time came round. Would definitely recommend the George Inn to people 👌

The room was immaculate, very large shower room. The hotel itself was very nice, an extensive bar with amazing food. It is in an excellent location, just off Hathersage main street, close to the local cafes and shops, would definitely recommend.

Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District.
Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District. The village seems to be a thriving community and there are plenty of walks from it without needing to jump in the car. It's a 20 minute drive to Chatsworth and same or less to Castleton.

Litton had a great pub and a useful post office.
Litton had a great pub and a useful post office. Tideswell had 3 pubs, 2 restaurants, a cafe, a butchers, a Coop, 2 x fish and chip shops and a bakery, as well as a few other small businesses. The Star was a great place for a meal.

Tideswell is a convenient village for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal trail in the Peak District.
It has 3 pubs within the village that all serve food, plus an Italien restaurant, a fish and chip shop and a local convenience store. The eateries get very busy in the evening so it's probably best to pre book. There are plenty of pubs in surrounding villages.
You probably need a car to get there, we did not use public transport.
There is a lovely church known as the Cathedral of the Peaks.

Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place.
Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place. I was expecting it to be friendly but it exceeded my expectations. Cathedral of the west worth a vist. I recommend a full breakfast from nearby cafes and a central location for many key Peak district sites.
Perfect base for exploring the area and both the cottage and Tideswell have everything you could want. A comfortable, well equipped house with a pretty, totally secure garden which had two seating areas. In hot weather, the ground and first floors could be kept cool and you could keep the door to the garden open. The bedrooms and bathroom were larger than expected and nicely done. The cellar was an additional useful space. I’m sure it would be very cosy too.
Cosy and warm on arrival, lovely welcome pack with essentials and treats. All toiletries, bed linen, towels etc to hotel quality , host has thought of everything including fabric conditioner and wash tablets for dish and clothes washer. Lovely original quirky features in the cottage. Perfect central location for exploring the Dales and so nice to know you had a comfortable and warm cottage to get back to after a days hiking
What's good about here is that they allow dogs in the room and anywhere in the downstairs part. The food was really tasty and it was very quiet. Good shower and tea making facilities available. Breakfast available and evening meal in the pub. Right in the middle of Tideswell and handy for local walks. Parking in front of pub. Friendly staff, locals and visitors!
Really cosy cottage in an excellent location in the Peaks, close to great walks. Dog friendly, and though snug, had everything you might want or need in the kitchen etc. The water pump for the shower had broken before our arrival, but was fixed by the owners reasonably quickly. Comfy bed after a long hike, and plenty of on-street parking.
Beautiful, well equipped cottage with a fun games room at the end of the garden. Great location in village of Tideswell close to Co-op, bakery and in walking distance of several pubs and restaurants. Good communication from our helpful host, both before and during our stay. Looking forward to making a return visit.
The location was perfect for all the places we wanted to visit. Set in the beutiful town of Tideswell, the cottage was within walking distance of several local pubs, bakers and a Co-Op. The cottage was well stocked with the esentials and very clean and comfortable. The downstairs shower room is amazing!
Such a friendly place to stay. Very welcoming and helpful.
Room was clean and had all you needed in the way of facilities
Food was excellent in the George but also further options locally within walking distance which was good to be able to have
Ideal location close to Bakewell Buxton & Chatsworth House
Due to its corner plot, the cottage has huge rooms - plenty of space for us all. The house was well equipped. Very clean. The location was excellent - very easy to walk to a number of cafes/pubs, and Tideswell is really central to get to other towns/walks. We would happily stay here again.
Great cottage for a family stay and although we don't have a dog, we liked how dog friendly it is. Lovely rooms and great location, no parking problem at all, close to a pub , some restaurants and shops .
Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything that you needed.
Tideswell is a great location, with various pubs and restaurants, and nice walks from the village. The Beautiful Bobbin was a cosy, modern and clean cottage, well appointed with Christmas tree and decorations providing a thoughtful touch.
Lovely boutique hotel. Great lunch and breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful, organised our taxi into Buxton and back. Room tastfully furnished and light, considering there were no windows, just a velux in the lovely, high ceiling.
Beautifully furnished for a very comfortable stay.
Spotless and fully equipped. The location was perfect - in the centre of Tideswell , which is a lovely village with good amenities and close to so many Peak District attractions
The cottage was in a lovely, quiet location with just a short walk into the village centre. The village has various pubs, cafes and a shop. The cottage itself had everything you needed for a comfortable stay.
Lovely spot in the centre of picturesque Tideswell. Super comfy and spacious room. Fab big bed with lovely linen. Very clean. Generous host tray in room. Fabulous breakfast… Cannot fault The George Inn0
It’s really nice and well build. Great kitchen. It’s also really great to have a parking space in front of the cottage. Tideswell is a good starting point to visit The Peak District
