Lovely guesthouse in an excellent location in Richmond. Welcomed to our rooms with a complimentary drink which was a nice touch. Well stocked tea and coffee tray with delicious biscuits.
Extra bedlinen and dressing gowns in the wardrobe. Plenty of hot water for the shower which had gorgeous toiletries too. Breakfast was served in the dining room and was delicious. Can't fault our stay. Also Nigel arranged to be at the property a few days after our stay to return some perfume I left behind. Excellent customer service.

Great walks around a very interesting town and its hinterland - loved all the dogs too, thought they added to the relaxed and happy atmosphere. The Little White Bus that took us up Swaledale was wonderful because of the lovely walking there. So glad that the lovely old character of the town is retained and that everything is accessible and within a small area.

I liked the friendly people in Richmond.
I liked the friendly people in Richmond. The shops, restaurants, and pubs were all great, and very reasonably priced. The portions in the restaurant were huge everywhere we visited. We used the local gym and spa on a day pass and the facilities were very good for the money we paid. The public transport was easy to use and cheap. The taxis were plentiful, the drivers were friendly and it was very easy to get a taxi.

We have family at Catterick and Richmond is only a few minutes drive from there. We like the Station complex with the shops & cinema, the centre of Richmond around the market place. I recommend the Green Howards museum and the Georgian theatre has a great 1 hour tour for just £8. There is the castle to visit and a nice walk around the castle to try. There are plenty of shops, little cafes, an indoor market, lots of pubs and a variety of take-aways. The market pace is cobbled and some streets away from the centre and very steep and can be hard walking for elderly.

Loved the dramatic landscape of the castle and the river valley around the town. The centre is up a slight hill but parking available in the central market square and down by the river. Some public footpaths available to walk in the countryside around the town. The town gives perhaps a good mornings wandering but with a car you can easily access the beautiful dales.

Great market town, the Saturday market held in the cobbled square was in full swing and very well attended.
Richmond is convenient for the stunning North Yorkshire Dales.
Has its own ruined castle and the beautiful river Swale runs through Richmond, lots of independent shops and the most fabulous fish and chips are to be had from the shop in the middle of the square …they are cooked in dripping and were delicious.
Lovely town to visit
Staying @ Low Gingerfield Farm has changed my perception on B/B...especially with covid it was so good not to be with a lot of people as our usual stay in hotels would have been. Everything about the farm was delightful and felt more like we had a cottage than a room. Which was very spacious. Being able to sit out in the gardens was just lovely taking in the fabulous views. Gill, the owner could not do enough for you. Breakfast was great and the afternoon tea was just delicious! A must to stay if you are in the Richmond area.
This is a cozy and charming row house in an excellent location. It's a very short walk to the center of town, and very quiet at night. It had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The back yard patio was a bonus -- it was a great place to sit and relax. We even ate a couple of dinners out there, which we enjoyed immensely. The second bathroom was another bonus we appreciated. The washer and dryer was a third bonus you don't always find in a rental.
We adored Richmond and if we ever go back, we will stay here again.
Lovely cottage with everything you need to enjoy your stay in north Yorkshire. We have visited north Yorkshire in the past but always stayed in the busy towns. The area that the Farthings is in is very peaceful and quiet but is in a great location to visit the surrounding area. The cottage was spotlessly clean and has a fully equipped kitchen so you don't need to take anything with you! Nice touch from Caroline to leave biscuits, homemade Marmalade and milk.
Gill was extremely helpful and friendly. An excellent English breakfast was served, our room was huge with tea/coffee etc plus wardrobe in a room off the bedroom and another room with the ensuite bathroom. It was very quiet and we enjoyed a lovely view from our room. Richmond was less than a mile I would say and very easy to get to in the car. If we are in the area again, we will definitely book Low Gingerfield Farm.
We loved our room - we stayed in room 103 - Franz Liszt, a large beautiful comfortable room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the market place. Also appreciated being able to book a parking space (additional cost), as Richmond can get very busy…especially if the weather is nice.
Every member of staff we encountered were absolutely lovely….helpful and smiling (which always helps).
The location of the house is great, you can walk (uphill) into Richmond, and there are plenty of places round about in Yorkshire to visit. We were 3 couples and really liked having 3 double bedrooms each with its own bathroom - in fact there is a surfeit of bathrooms, two more in addition to the 3 ensuites! The lounge area and dining table were both comfortable to hang out in.
Great location for exploring North Yorkshire. Lovely large bedrooms and bathroom perfect for our family of 5. Small but fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable and cosy lounge diner. Very pretty street and an easy (uphill) walk into Richmond. Plenty of on street parking. We had a fun Halloween weekend and found the property good value for what we paid.
Had a lovely break at the Old Milk House. Beautiful house, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Location was great, in a quiet village setting and a good base to explore Yorkshire dales..Russel was the perfect host, very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
The Mews was comfortable, clean with above average facilities available for our party. The keys were easy to collect and the host made us most welcome. It is sited in an ideal situation for visiting Richmond and the parking with discs did not pose any inconvenience as we were visiting other places too.
A lovely house, attractively furnished and decorated, in a small village just off the A66 near Richmond. The public areas are delightful, as was our room. Very quiet at night. One of the best hotel breakfasts I can remember, with high quality ingredients.
A great Pub and Hotel in a brilliant location. Staff were great. Food was brilliant. Excellent outside seating in a superb street. Richmond is a very good town to tour and chill out. Local walks were relaxing.
Really lovely cottage very close to Richmond Centre. Really loved the very comfortable bed and that the B&B was very cosy and small. Having breakfast served by the host gave it a really nice personal touch.
